How I Promote My Online Business

Tweet It!
So you've signed up to the 'greatest biz opportunity in history' what next? You've told your mum, best mate and the dog - and only the dog showed even the slightest interest!

Let's face it, no one really cares about your business. If it works and you get filthy rich - you'll be quietly ignored for daring to upset the apple cart equilibrium of of your place in the peer social mix - if you fail - then that's fine 'cause it justifies their disinterest and is fodder for some mirth at your expense!

Here's the deal. If you're pursuing an entrepreneurial endeavor - you need to go locate others with the same ambition dreams and goals as you. No one wants to be preached to or solicited to your brainwave of the week program - much as most of us don't want a religious zealot telling us how to live our lives - it's an accurate analogy.

As the renowned Online Marketer Mike Dillard likes to say: No one wants a drill - what they need are holes - hence that's where you should be positioning yourself - in the vicinity of those looking for solutions to their need for holes!

Enough already! Below are simple but effective lead capture pages for various businesses that I promote. I rarely promote my business - what I do is promote a link. For example

The only people who will feel the remotest urge to click on that link are... you guessed it - people who like to travel and preferably for free! That's the demographic that my message is looking for -no one else

Here's another:

What type of person do you think will click on that link? Absolutely - My target audience

Sometimes I'll spread the net a bit broader in order to reach a wider audience. There are millions of people online chasing the numbers via Twitter, Facebook etc - well if i can offer a free download showing them how to build a massive Facebook and Twitter following at the click of a button - then I've got their attention and a good chance of an opt in

I know that sub domain doesn't express exactly what the nature of the information is which is probably a flaw but the link can still be promoted via the social networks but keeping the 'secret' hidden - it's called creating curiosity!

List building if done in a systematic and targeted fashion is a skill that all online marketers need to master. I believe that it is also important to brand YOU not just your biz opp - you'll note that my lead capture pages have two common denominators Kiaran Finn (me!) and 5 month plan. The latter is my subtle mini brand.

Whenever that subdomain shows up it will trigger a memory of having been seen before - yet is unique to me. It could be anything - superhero - manofmystery - or whatever you like

For a bit more insight click through on the links

Cheers Kiaran

PS: Here are a couple more - seeing a pattern? lol

About.me - your online introduction

Tweet It!
I've just hooked up to a profile site called about.me. It's a neat free service that allows you to post an online 'business card' with a pic and profile details as well as a link to your other networks or websites.

You can use it as a sort of signature link on your emails, tweets etc

Takes about 2 minutes to set up - pretty cool!

How To Get the Job Of Your Dreams with little experience or qualifications

Tweet It!

As a Blog primarily focused on building passive income online, this post meanders in a different direction!

One of the pre requisites to success is the attainment of a well adjusted mindset. One that is tuned in to and open to opportunity.

Self confidence, and trust in the unseen forces at work when goals are written often seem to exist only in the domain of the work from home entrepreneur psyche. However these same attributes are equally important in the offline day to day pursuit of success.

Very few will become instant millionaires online. For most, the bread and butter consistency that a career offers means that it is important that the same ambition that drives your entrepreneurial dreams is also put in place in the pursuit of your dream job.

The video and Blog summary touch on some of the small but hugely significant actions you can take to out compete those with better credentials, such as age and work experience, and get the job of your dreams with relatively little work.

The key is NOT the attainment of higher learning qualifications - in fact there is a point at which academic qualifications can even work against you. The real key to success is...... to become OUTSTANDING.

The Video above discusses some left of center ideas that are virtually guaranteed to absolutely make sure you do stand out and are remembered!

Below is my latest ezine article on the topic:

The job market can be extremely competitive and striving for your dream job may seem elusive, but that need not be the case.
The key strategy you will need to pursue and which will dramatically increase your odds of success is to find a way to stand out from the crowd. To be outstanding should be your goal.
How to separate yourself from better-qualified applicants:
  • Research the company thoroughly. Investigate as much as you can via trade journals, Google, YouTube and so forth.
  • Create a Blog based around this industry, and fill it with relevant content.
  • Request an interview with authorities within your chosen industry and offer to record and upload to YouTube and your Blog.
  • Call in to the offices of the business that you are hoping to join and see if you can get 5 minutes with the secretary to find out as much as you can about the position requirements.
  • Try and obtain the direct mobile or cell phone contact number of the decision maker, and then take the risk and initiative of calling them directly.
  • Be sure to communicate both your passion and enthusiasm for the job at every opportunity.
  • When submitting your curriculum vitae, add a little flair.  Direct the reader to your industry specific Blog and be sure to include the links to any websites or videos you have uploaded.
In conclusion, your goal should be, to get noticed. Create the first impression of being an authority in your chosen industry, regardless of whether you have the appropriate qualifications.
All interviews are a two way sales process and you need to have the posture of someone who is asking the questions and directing the process.

If you do this well the tables will turn and the interviewer will be the one striving to earn your trust and and selling the job to you!
It is hard to over sell yourself, but in order to come across as authentic you will need to support your claims of competency with examples of your activity

Social Media List Building

Tweet It!

So why exactly ARE you online? Me? Well I'm online to have fun, to connect with like minded people and to build a solid residual income in order to fund my travel and lifestyle pursuits -which incidentally do NOT include spending 40 hours a week for 40 years in an office - just to pay the bills and retire at 67 on a pension!

Aren't Social Media sites such as Facebook and Twitter for connecting with friends, and NOT for the purpose of soliciting business?

Give me a break lol! If that were the case why on earth would people have thousands of connections with people they have never met and with whom they have virtually no common interests?

Personally I use Facebook almost exclusively for social activities and 'hide' those who continually bombard me with links to their business endeavors - BUT that doesn't change the fact that thousands are earning a very tidy income from marketing into these social networks. Twitter I'm kind of less picky about marketing into - that's the game

It's a free world and people interact how ever they please, just because we may not like it - that's the way of the world

Millions of people are now looking to escape the drudgery of often joyless careers and searching for a way to earn a living from home, preferably one that has low over heads and can be done from a lap top I Pod or PC in the comfort of their pyjamas and whilst in the company of the kids and loved ones.

These people are looking for like minded people to guide them and share common ideas. Yes they are also cross selling to each other as well but so what?

If you are new or even perhaps a veteran of online marketing and have been struggling to get traction and more specifically build a sizable targeted list then you could do worse than start by studying how to utilize the networks that you probably already use daily to assist you in making this a year to remember!

Click below for some great FREE insight into how you can build your own personally branded and credible identity and PROMOTE it to thousands of hungry and budding entrepreneurs. Did I mention that it's FREE to look?

You probably know that I run a couple of exciting online businesses and I'd love for you to join me but this post is not about any of that this is about learning how to build ANY business

PS: to connect click on the social media buttons on the side or pop over to my site at WWW.KIARANFINN.COM (where I also have a bunch of great FREE resources - most not requiring an opt in!)
